Bondage Photography Project 2015 started
In the autumn 2014 on some photography sites I stumbled about some really cool art photography of bondage & shibari. Very impressed I searched for more of this and recognized that a lot of riggers have no idea about photography and on the other hand good photographers are not able to tie. Only a small part of these images are really awesome, stunning and perfect.
Totally new to Bondage & Shibari I decided to learn how to tie, create and combine other ideas with ropes to produce bondage photos in a way everybody should like. On YouTube I found several channels about how to tie and tutorials for several knots. The research of images on google or pinterest was very helpful to collect more inspiration. On Amazon I ordered some books about knots and tying. Especially the books of “Two knotty boys (“Back on the ropes”, “Show you the ropes”)” and “Decorative Fusion Knots” by J.D. Lenzen have been very helpful. There are tons of websites to read about health aspects for bondage, tips what ropes to use (Hemp, Jute, Cotton,…) and how to handle with them. So I think, I have much more than just basic information about bondage and shibari and now it´s up to me to create some insane bondage art…
A tricky and also dangerous thing are suspensions. So I decided not to this as a bloody beginner.
With all of this sources of knowledge I saw, that this is a really great playground for a photographer to be creative and a chhallenge to learn something new.
Another thing I always wantet to do, is to produce a book. Available in all stores or online like Amazon – worldwide. So I decided to take this project to create such a book – the idea for “Fine Art of Bondage” was born..

“Bondage” is a “fetish thing”, easily put in a category where people and models don´t want to get in touch on the internet. But my considerations about this where totally wrong – with some example images, a lot of models, experienced or completly new to this genre, showed me that they are interested in the project.
So I think it´s the way you do this kind of photography: Aesthetic bound girls, creative light, the way of retouching the photos, the hard way to move a fetish and a very special scene of photography into a little more mainstream. We´ll see if I can handle all this…
Actually I had about 10 photography sessions with really great models, where we played with ropes, light, backgrounds and ideas. In my opinion I have already a lot of stunning images – but I won´t publish all of them yet. Some examples you can see here in the gallery.
Now I search for more models near my hometown (Ulm/Germany) to get more differnt models in the book. I´ll post more information soon, because I plan to document the whole way of the upcomming photo art book. To stay up to date, just follow me on the social media accounts like Facebook, Google+, Pinterest, Twitter or on YouTube. I plan to upload some Videos about the images or making-of.
If you have any questions, ideas or remarks – don´t hestitate to write in the comments or send me an email/PN.
In the meantime: take your ropes an play!
